This is the Fan History article about Another World. The whole of Fan History is about documenting and preserving the history of fandom and the page for Another World is specifically about writing the history of the Another World fandom. If you know anything about the fandom, if you could include your own experiences in the article, or could pass the link along to anyone who might be able to help improve the article, it would very much be appreciated. :)

I know this comm is dead but I still wanted to say hi. I used to catch AW on NBC before DOOL came on but I fell in love with it on its rerun on SoapNet. Of course, with my luck, I didn't come too long before they yanked it oh so cruelly away from us again. But it was still long enough for me to miss it. What I loved about this show was that I really was interested in just about all the characters, that's so different from the majority of soaps now. But my favorites were probably John and Sharlene (my AW OTP -- I don't even wanna hear about what they did to them in the mid 90s), Michael and Donna, Cass and Frankie (though I like Kathleen also), and I was beginning to get into Jake and Paulina. I liked the characters outside of their couples too, I loved just the entire cast! I'll always curse my luck that I never found AW sooner *sigh*!

This message was posted on the Soapnet AW board by a mod:

"Another World will stop airing on SOAPnet on Friday, April 6th. The network is proud to have enabled fans the chance to reconnect with the series for a second time."

It feels like 1999 all over again, doesn't it?

In addition to e-mailing and calling the Soapnet, I have a petition going which I will be sending to them VIA e-mail on Monday, probably.
I'm trying to get as many signatures as possible.
Please sign!

Another World is in grave danger of disappearing off the airwaves again. SoapNet is bringing some new programming in April, specifically "The O.C." and "One Tree Hill". From all accounts, "Another World" will air for the last time on Friday April 6th. The other classic "Ryan's Hope" will be shifted to Sundays at some insane hour.

If you're interested in keeping AW on the air, there is a viewer call line 818-569-3333. There is also a form email on the website.

Someone on the Soapnet forums has talked to a programming person and they haven't made any definitive plans on AW's future, but should soon. They confirmed they continue to hold the rights to the show, so they could continue if they wanted to.

Hope to see all you Cass and Frankie fanatics there! :-)

Hi all. I'm new to the community, just found it actually. I started watching Another World during the early to mid-nineties. So I came into the show a bit late. I loved what I saw though, and ever since it was cancelled I've been trying to see earlier episodes. Really want to get Soapnet for this reason!

Anyway, I'm currently looking for some source of Josie/Gary clips or episodes from the "modern era" of the show. I know most fans liked the earlier stories a whole lot more, but Josie and Gary were my favourite to watch when I was younger and I barely see anything from them now. So the modern era is sort of nostalgic for me. Does anyone know where I could find such clips (like the whole Boca Lynda scenario w/ Cameron and Amanda) or much earlier is great too. I also loved watching the stories around Ryan, Vicky, Grant, etc. I know AWHP has tons of things available on tape/DVD, but I'm talking about downloadable items.

I apologize in advance if this sort of request isn't allowed. I just really miss watching this show!

Thanks!

The Duh and Evan storyline comes to an end!
I could care less what the two of them do with their own lives, but if I had to watch them make love one more time, I swear I swear I was going to hurl!

Horray for Sam and Olivia!! ^_^
